I have re-published the facebook page for this blog and started a new twitter account called @agroecotheology. I will mainly be pushing links and posts from the blog to these places, but thought someone might want to know… Mom?

Being Productive vs Being a Producer

IMG_5366

A motley crew of Wacoans has formed a group around the idea that we should be producers and not just consumers. Many of us have read Shannon Haye’s book Radical Homemakers which inspired the formation of the group and our name. At our last meeting, after getting a lesson on making kombucha, we had an […]

The Grass Has To Be Meaningful

IMG_5366

From the tone of the last post you might surmise that not everything is working out perfectly or at least how I dream/imagine in my life. I’m not living my ideal life, or the one I have absorbed from the culture and others. I continue to work full-time in technology for a local school district […]

“Don’t Call It a Comeback…

IMG_5366

… I’ve been here for years.” –LL Cool J I’m not sure what exactly i would be coming back from or what I would come back to, but I can say that I am planning on more frequent blogging in the near future. Some of the changes in my life will surely open up space […]

Life Beyond Facebook

IMG_5366

Oh… hello there. Are you still paying attention, patiently waiting for more posts from me? These days I struggle just to find balance between work, more work, family and community. Welcome home to the United States and North American culture! I am now working in the technology department for […]

Fear Not!

IMG_5366

Seasons greetings avid reader! I hope your Advent season of waiting, hope and expectation in the midst of darkness is going well. I had hoped to keep up with writing even in the midst of our transition back to North American life and culture. Alas! I have not. Fear not! I will most certainly write […]

Living in Limbo

IMG_5366

I’m not unemployed or underemployed like some of the people protesting at various Occupy gatherings across the US, but I am in limbo. When we were deported from Bolivia, I thought our time at home would be a vacation while we visited family and waited to hear from MCC and figure out what to do […]

Begging the Question

IMG_5366

So, the idea for this blog came out of my quest for what to do with my life after seminary. The title is just a clever and catchy way to get at the main theme of this blog, food and theology. As I have unpacked this silly little question it seems to have sometimes taken […]

Old is the New New

IMG_5366

It’s not just that there is more information available, but now there are more and more tools, like twitter, and tools to manage and keep up with those tools, like tweet deck, which all promise that we will be able to consume more information that is really possible or necessary. This is where we must take a deep breath and step back… Go ahead…Take as much time as you need… No, really, go ahead… I was gently chided not that long ago about something I had read and was writing about on this blog being “outdated”.
